Published in issue no. 45: ‘Ala’ al-Saltanah’s female slave was given to Haji Mirza Aqa Bardah-furush (slave seller) to be sold in the bazaar. Marriage contract between Khanum Rubab (known as Khanum Sughra), daughter of Aqa Mirza Muhammad Khalil (known as Aqa Mirza Vahhab Tajir (merchant)), son of Haji Mirza Abu Talib Tajir, and Aqa Mirza Abu al-Qasim, son of Haji Mirza Abu Talib Tajir. The mahr is four hundred tumans, including two hundred tumans, a copy of the Qur’an worth fourteen tumans, a female slave worth forty tumans, some raw silks, and five misqals of pearls.

Marriage Contract of Surur al-Saltanah and Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk, 1909
Marriage Contract of Sughra Khanum Surur al-Saltanah, daughter of Khazin al-Mulk, and ‘Abd al-Husayn Khan Mu‘azzaz al-Mulk, son of Karim Dad Khan Salar. Mahr is a copy of the Qurʼan (valued at 100 tumans), a female slave (value of 70 tumans), and one thousand and five hundred tumans cash (that was presented), as well as some properties including the related water creeks, trees, and gardens in exchange for three thousand and five hundred tumans. The above was first deeded to the groom by his father and then, the groom included it in the Mahr for his wife.

Marriage contract of Khavar, daughter of the late ‘Ali Akbar, and Karbalayi Haydar, son of the late Karbalayi ‘Ali Quli; the mahr is fifty tumans, some gold worth ten tumans, some copperware worth five tumans, a carpet worth five tumans, a male servant/slave worth five hundred tumans, one-sixth of a house in Faridun Bayg along with a piece of land adjacent to it, and one female slave, dated February 16, 1919. On December 18, 1925, Khavar settles her mahr with her husband for two thousand [dinars] and some sugar cubes as he has taken her several times for pilgrimage to the holy shrines in Iraq.

Marriage contract of Saltanat Khanum (known as Mukhbar al-Saltanah), daughter of Davud Mirza, and Shahzadah [prince] ‘Abbas Mirza, son of Haj Muhammad Mahdi Mirza, on March 15, 1910; the mahr includes a Qurʼan worth twenty-five tumans, one-twelfth of [illegible] ‘Abbas Abad village, five hundred tumans, a female Abyssinian slave worth one hundred and fifty tumans, and five mans [unit of weight] of silk.
