An old house belonging to the Varjavand family in the Khalaf Khan‘ali neighborhood of Yazd, including a plan and photographs of different sections of the house.

Rasuliyan house
One of the houses of the late Qajar period (early 20th c.), located in the Sahl ibn ‘Ali neighborhood in Yazd. The house belonged to Haj Mirza Kazim Rasuliyan and its architect: Ustad Hasan Muhammad Rahim. Both Andaruni and Biruni consist of several interconnected courtyards.

Kaykhusraw Kadkhuda's house
One of the old houses of the Zoroastrian neighborhood in Yazd. According to the inscription on the stone plaque above the entrance: “In August (or September) of 2011, the children of Kaykhusraw Kadkhuda endowed this house in his memory to the Zoroastrian Society of Yazd, so that it can be used for charitable and religious matters.” The entrance hall leads on one side to a room and on the other to the large main courtyard of the house. As one enters the courtyard, the “piskam mas”(or main open salon), used for ceremonial purposes, is located to the left.

Letters about property management in Karbala’
Two letters to Haji ‘Abd Allah, the merchant from Yazd: in the first letter (1905), Karbalayi writes about the destruction of the religious tombs in Karbala’ and notes that because of the current situation, there are less pilgrims and no demand for Haji ‘Abd Allah's houses except by the widows. He is asking for permission to rent the houses to these wealthy women for three lira per year; in the second letter (1919) from Najaf, the writer complains about the difficulties in managing the properties of Haji ‘Abd Allah in Karbala’.

The writer talks about his difficulties, including taxes and peasants and mentions that he did not have a chance to visit Aqa Navvab. At the end he denies the claims that he had beaten the daughter of Aqa Husayn.
