‘Ali Akbar's will, 1892
Two copies of the will, one written on the letterhead of the Ministry of Justice. ‘Ali Akbar, the son of Haji Muhammad Ganjah, a Russian national, assigns his brothers, Mashhadi Haj Baba and Mashhadi Najaf, as the executors of his will. His inheritors are his children, Javad (age 14), Zayn al-‘Abidin (age 4), Khadijah (age 7), and Zahra (age 1), and his wife Shikar Khanum the daughter of Haji Allahyar Ganjah. Article includes lyrics of the song that the daughters of Quchan sang in a coffeeshop at Tibilisi upon request of Russians and Turkmen, which was originally published in Issue No. 4 of Sur-i Israfil.

About selling ‘Ala’ al-Saltanah's female slave, 1909
Published in issue no. 45: ‘Ala’ al-Saltanah’s female slave was given to Haji Mirza Aqa Bardah-furush (slave seller) to be sold in the bazaar. She had fled but later was captured by police and given back to Haji Mirza Aqa; issue no. 46: three woman have stepped in to raise money for the slave’s freedom; issue no. 47: ‘Ali Muhammad Khan, ‘Ala’ al-Saltanah’s agent, comes to the office of Iran-i naw and states that the female slave, named Ziba, actually belonged to ‘Ala’ al-Saltanah’s wife, ‘Azimat al-Dawlah, who had granted her freedom a few days earlier. ‘Ali Muhammad Khan holds her letter...
