Gawhari Khanum's will, 1923
Gawhari Khanum (daughter of Haj Zu al-Riyasatayn) makes her daughter, Batul Khanum, the executor of her will so that after Gawhari Khanum's death Batul Khanum has to sell the three-sixths of the mills in Murad Bak valley, or buy that share, and spend the money for the expenses in the year of Gawhari Khanum's death. Seven hundred tumans of subtenancy should be paid for fifty years of fasts and prayers. Five hundred tumans should be paid for the expenses of carrying the corpse to the holy cities in Iraq. Letter, probably from Hamid al-Sultan, about: his arrival at Khuy and preoccupation with work; Safiyah's illness and the recommendation to call an experienced doctor; sending money and ensuring that the household has enough money; Khanum's departure for Mashhad; the sewing machine and taking money from a woman; his concern about the epidemic; Aqa Sayyid Husayn's illness; sending greetings to Akhund; a request for regular letters and to inform the writer about the well-being of the family; and asking about the addressee's sister and whether she has found a companion or not.

The writer talks about arriving to Batumi; their concern about carrying medicine in the trunk of their car without having permission, but the customs officers did not find them; getting a plate full of nuts and candied fruit from ‘Abd al-Baha’, saving most of it, and giving some to their host; and a promise to their host to get a letter from the addressee that describes the details about Meshkat el Azkar [Mashriq al-Adhkar].
