Marriage contract of Khanum Hajiyah, daughter of Mashhadi Karim Qassab [the butcher] from Shiraz, and Mashhadi Husayn Misgar [the coppersmith], son of Karbalayi Aqa Buzurg from Shiraz; the mahr includes sixty tumans, a Qur‘an worth one tuman, one misqal [unit of weight] of gold, ten misqals of green silk, one charik [unit of weight] of palm starch, and five mans [unit of weight] of salt. The mahr remains the groom's debt.

Marriage contract between Fakhr al-Sadat Khanum, daughter of Sayyid ‘Abd Allah, and Mashhadi ‘Abd Allah, son of Karbalayi ‘Abd al-Rahman from Shiraz but residing in Tehran; the mahr is a copy of a Qurʼan and one hundred ten tumans, of which the bride received thirty tumans and the remaining eighty tumans remain the groom’s debt. The witnesses are Haj ‘Abbasquli Sahm al-Mulk Bayat from Arak and Nusrat Allah.

Marriage contract of Bibi Khanum Batul, daughter of Mirza Muhammad from Shiraz, and Aqa Mirza Muhammad Riza, son of Haji Aqa ‘Ali from Fasa; the mahr includes two hundred tumans, twenty misqals [unit of weight] of gold, one charik [unit of weight] of green silk, along with a Qur‘an worth one tuman. The wife was granted the right to determine the location of their residence.

Marriage contract of Saltanat Khanum (known as Mukhbar al-Saltanah), daughter of Davud Mirza, and Shahzadah [prince] ‘Abbas Mirza, son of Haj Muhammad Mahdi Mirza, on March 15, 1910; the mahr includes a Qurʼan worth twenty-five tumans, one-twelfth of [illegible] ‘Abbas Abad village, five hundred tumans, a female Abyssinian slave worth one hundred and fifty tumans, and five mans [unit of weight] of silk. On April 1, 1910, Shahzadah ‘Abbas Mirza divorced Saltanat Khanum, and since the marriage was not consummated, her mahr was cut in half. Saltanat Khanum settled half of her original mahr,...
