Letter from Mahd-i ‘Ulya to Nasir al-Din Shah, 1863 or 1864
When the late Muhammad Shah's sisters visited Nasir al-Din Shah, Sahib Khanum asked Mahd-i ‘Ulya, in the presence of Anis al-Dawlah, to convey her plea to Nasir al-Din Shah. She claimed that her share of Punak property, now seized by Asif al-Dawlah and his sons, was her wedding gift from Zill al-Sultan. She was deprived of the property interest that she relied on for her family expenses. The houses in the property were destroyed and she was not given any compensation, which even Mirza Taqi Khan had stated was her right. Mahd-i ‘Ulya writes about Nasir al-Din Shah's letter and the affair between the daughter of Muhammad Tahir Khan and the son of ‘Aliyah Khanum who is married to Nush Khanum's daughter; she mentions that she has punished the woman by hitting her and both the woman's arms were broken by her husband; and she discusses bringing the couple to Niyavaran and getting a house for them as I‘tizad al-Saltanah is not accepting the woman at his house.

Mahd-i ‘Ulya responds to Nasir al-Din Shah's letter and explains how her servants found the petition the soldiers threw into their yard. She then requested ‘Ayn al-Mulk deliver the petition to Nasir al-Din Shah. Mahd-i ‘Ulya also mentions Amin al-Mulk asking her to reassure the soldiers that they could go and receive their wages from him.
