Questions and answers concerning wet-nursing
In three separate letters, the same question is asked from three members of the ‘ulama’ regarding the marriage permissibility consequent upon breastfeeding of a child: 1. If the woman's muhill [temporary husband] has other wives, does this child become mahram to these wives as well? 2. Does the wife of the breast-fed child become mahram to the muhill? 3. If the answer is yes, are the children of the person who was nursed permitted to marry the children of the muhill from his other wives? Each of the ‘ulama’ has written his answers on the margin.
