Probably from Hamid al-Sultan, on the letterhead of the Salmas governorate; the writer expresses happiness about the well-being of the addressee and Sarkar ‘Illiyah and his pleasure at seeing that the letter was in the handwriting of Mashhadiyah Khanum; given the access to her, Safiyah's mother should not ask anyone else to write these letters, it is not good for strangers to learn about the family's secrets; talks about arriving at Salmas from Khuy and his government position, noting that the weather is better in Salmas and his chest feels better; mentions Dabir al-Sultan and urges...

Forced marriage of Fazl‘ali Khan's daughter, 1923
The writer answers a question from Sadr al-Muhaqqiq regarding the marriage contract of the daughter of Fazl‘ali Khan and Ahmad Aqa, the brother of Isma‘il Aqa. He recounts a night in the month of Rajab in 1922 when Ahmad Aqa's servants took him to Fazl‘ali Khan's house and coerced him to perform the marriage vow despite the dissent of Fazl‘ali Khan's daughter. The note on the margin states that if the girl later shows discontent the marriage is void.
